20 Learn more about the School 了解學院更多 學院宣布常務副院長(學務)任命 HKU SPACE Announces the Appointment of Deputy Director (Academic Services) 徵求摘要｜第四屆「自資高等教育質素」國際會議 Call for Abstracts | Fourth International Conference on Quality in Self-financed Higher Education HKU SPACE Announces the Appointment of Deputy Director (Academic Services) 學院宣布常務副院長(學務)任命 The Board of Directors of HKU SPACE has appointed Dr Danny Gittings as Deputy Director (Academic Services) (Designate) with effect from 2 October 2026, with a view to succeeding Dr John Cribbin as Deputy Director (Academic Services) from 1 November 2026. Dr Gittings is currently Head of the College of Humanities and Law and has served the School for nearly 20 years. He joined HKU SPACE in 2008 and was appointed Acting Head of the College of Humanities and Law in 2022, before assuming the position of Head in 2023. Throughout his tenure, he has held a number of academic and management leadership roles and has made significant contributions to the advancement of teaching and learning, programme quality and academic development. Upon relinquishing his role as Deputy Director (Academic Services), Dr Cribbin will take up a new appointment as School Senior Adviser in the Directorate Office. The School expresses its sincere appreciation to Dr Cribbin for his distinguished service since 1990. He witnessed the development of the School and has helped to shape HKU SPACE into one of Hong Kong’s leading providers of lifelong learning. The conference aims to align local and international quality standards in higher education and promote the sharing of best practices that harness the potential of AI.
