All in all the next 2-3 years are likely to be very busy in dealing with these transitions. Meanwhile normal planning operations will continue in accordance with the established cycle which leads from the Board and Management Retreat in November each year, to preparation of plans by the Colleges, their presentation to senior management and eventually in May each year to the Board in detail for the year ahead (2023/24) and in outline for the next 2 years (2024/25 and 2025/26). Other influences that are likely to play a part are the government’s review of the role of the Higher Diploma versus the Associate Degree and the continuing importance of provision for Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET) which may lead to the promotion of Applied Degrees. As a leading lifelong learning provider, the School will follow these developments closely. We will also see the formal opening of the Kowloon West Campus at 888 Lai Chi Kok Road so as to better serve that area. This is in keeping with the School’s philosophy of taking the University to the community in pursuing its mission to be the University’s extension arm in offering lifelong learning opportunity to the wider community.
