Selected through a rigorous process by a professional judging panel and public voting, the School was recognised for its diverse and high-quality AI courses. AI-powered algorithms optimise investment strategies and portfolio management. Courses such as the Postgraduate Diploma in Investment Management and Financial Intelligence and the Executive Certificate in Big Data, AI and Investing prepare students to excel in this sector. Office Administration and Human Resources: Leveraging AI for data analysis in human resources streamline tasks related to the assessment of the potential of current employee as well as those related to recruitment and training. The School provides the Certificate for Module (Big Data and AI for HR Analytics) and Certificate for Module (Principles of Artificial Intelligence and HR Analytics for Workforce Improvement) for employees to harness AI tools for enhanced productivity. Healthcare: AI is bringing healthcare into a new era. Courses such as the Certificates for Module in Essential AI Competencies for Healthcare Professionals, Hospital Intelligence, and Applied Big Data in Digital Healthcare provide professionals with the necessary conceptual, theoretical, and practical knowledge of AI in healthcare, equipping them with the ability to contribute to the medical field. Establishment of AI Hub and Innovation Hub In this new era of AI, the School is actively applying generative AI in teaching to boost learning outcomes. The AI Hub, established in January 2024, integrates the latest AI tools such as ChatGPT, generative AI, and big data analytics into one single website for all teachers, staff, and students to learn, experience, and innovate using AI. In addition, the Island South Pokfulam campus has been transformed into an Innovation Hub to support disciplines such as aviation, e-sports, geotechnical science, and biomedical science. Special classrooms, such as an Aircraft Mock-up Cabin & Flight Simulator Laboratory and Aircraft Maintenance Laboratory have been set up to enable students to experience professional and realistic flight operations. Additionally, the establishment of an eSports Mock-up Stadium, Geotechnical Laboratory, CAVE Laboratory, etc., fully demonstrates the School’s commitment to innovative teaching.

Leveraging state-of-theart AI technology, this innovative tool elevates user experience by simplifying and expediting the process of accessing programme and event details on the HKU SPACE website. Key features of the HKU SPACE Chatbot include: • Instant Assistance: Available round-the-clock, the chatbot offers immediate responses to enquiries about programmes, events, workshops, seminars, learning centres and other general enquiries to match individual needs and learning goals. Just simply tapping the “HKU SPACE Chatbot” icon on the homepage, provides live chat support at your fingertips; • Multi-lingual Support: Answers queries in English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. The HKU SPACE Chatbot is now available on both the website and mobile platforms. It will continue to evolve and improve through ongoing learning from user interactions, aiming to deliver increasingly accurate responses to enquiries. 05 為實踐提升教職員工作效率及學生體驗的承諾，學院於今年六月率先為員工推出了「HKU SPACE AI Chat」平台，九月進一步擴展服務至附屬學院及港大保良何鴻燊社區書院的全日 制學生，推動學院數碼轉型及AI應用的發展。 該平台由學院的資訊科技服務部開發，融合了ChatGPT及其他先進的AI工具，能即時回應學 術及行政查詢，同時支援文字、文件及圖像等多元輸入方式，展現出高度的靈活性，方便用 戶工作與學習。透過這些技術創新，學院在教學與行政層面推動了更高效的運作。 學院首次運用AI技術生成學院影片，標誌着學院在影像技術創新上邁進了重要一步。 在影片中，學院院長李經文教授的全部畫面均由AI技術生成，其中更以智能機械人的全新形 象亮相；整段旁白亦由AI複製院長的聲音演繹，提供英語與普通話雙語版本。我們又利用圖 像轉為影像的技術，將學院於1957年座落於香港大學本部大樓辦事處的情景重現於大眾面 前。另外，多個片段皆由AI生成，包括尖端科技展示及未來發展藍圖等。 In line with our dedication to enhancing staff efficiency and student satisfaction, the School launched “HKU SPACE AI Chat” for staff in June this year. In September, this service expanded to full-time students in Community College (CC) and HKU SPACE Po Leung Kuk Stanley Ho Community College (HPSHCC), advancing the School’s digital transformation and AI development. Developed by the School’s Information Technology Services Unit, the platform integrates ChatGPT and other advanced AI tools, to deliver instant responses to academic and administrative queries. The platform supports a variety of input formats, including text, documents, and images, demonstrating its flexibility. It helps users work more efficiently and enhances their learning experience. These technological improvements have boosted efficiency in both teaching and administration at the School. The School has used AI to generate a corporate video for the first time, marking an important step forward in its innovations in imaging technology. In the video, all on-screen appearances of Professor William K.M. Lee, Director of HKU SPACE, were produced by AI, even featuring him in a new intelligent-robot persona. The entire narration was delivered using an AI-synthesised version of the Director’s voice, available in both English and Putonghua. Leveraging imageto-video technology, the video also reconstructs the School’s office at the HKU Main Building during its establishment in 1957. Several other segments were AIgenerated as well, including displays of cutting-edge technologies and visions for future development. 學院與西工大合作課程啟動禮 Inauguration Ceremony of Collaborative Programme between HKU SPACE and NPU 06 Inauguration Ceremony of Collaborative Programme between HKU SPACE and NPU 學院與西工大合作課程啟動禮 HKU SPACE and the School of Continuing Education of Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) have joined forces to introduce the Diploma in Foundation Studies (E-learning mode) programme. The programme inauguration ceremony took place at the Zhihui Port in Taicang, near Shanghai, on 11 September 2025, marking a significant milestone in educational collaboration between these two institutions. Addressing the Ceremony, Acting Director Dr John Cribbin remarked, “This collaboration fully leverages the strengths of both institutions. The School offers highquality course content to help students build a solid foundation, complemented by NPU’s comprehensive campus support, creating an ideal learning environment for students. This collaboration not only broadens students’ horizons but also provides new pathways for them to achieve their academic and professional goals.” Mr Li Chunlin, Dean of the School of Continuing Education at NPU, stated, “Through jointly optimising the curriculum system, focusing on students’ developmental needs, and leveraging collaborative teaching and resource sharing, the two institutions have effectively enhanced the programme’s international competitiveness.” In March of this year, the School and NPU’s School of Continuing Education signed a Memorandum of Understanding. During the visit, both parties reached three agreements: the relaunch of the Zhongshan University-HKU Joint Centre for Professional Education; co-organisation of the second GBA Education Conference in spring 2026; and collaboration to promote training in finance and business, traditional Chinese medicine, humanities and social sciences, and to jointly develop distinctive programmes to meet the needs of the GBA. SYSU has been a valued partner of the School since 2001. This visit signifies a pivotal phase in the collaboration between the two institutions, laying a robust foundation for pioneering new models of talent development within the GBA. The launch ceremony and high‑quality development forum of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao University Alliance for Continuing Education were held at SYSU campus on 24 November 2025. As a founding member, the HKU SPACE delegation, led by Professor William K.M. Lee, Director of HKU SPACE, participated actively. Professor Lee also delivered a speech during the round‑table discussion with GBA experts, addressing innovative continuing education mechanisms under “One Country, Two Systems.” Other members of the alliance include Sun Yat‑sen University, University of Macau, and Hong Kong Metropolitan University. Together, all members will share resources, collaborate, and drive high‑quality continuing education to support talent and regional development.

With an additional 3,000 students at HPSHCC, HKU SPACE is the largest provider of sub-degree programmes in Hong Kong. To meet students’ developmental needs, two new learning centres—Kowloon East Exchange (KEE) and Kowloon East Kingston (KEK)—have been established alongside the existing Kowloon East Campus (KEC) and CITA Learning Centre. These expanded facilities will provide students with more comfortable learning environments with innovative designs. A fresh look for the campus KEC occupies the largest area within the Kowloon Bay learning facilities at approximately 168,000 square feet. It spans 14 floors, features 42 classrooms, 13 special venues, and 5 computer labs. The campus entrance lobby has been revamped with a sleek and sophisticated streamlined seating layout, creating a welcoming social space. We have also enhanced the campus’s facilities to include a large LED screen and other student facilities. The new Engineering Teaching Lab now boasts electrostatic tables and related equipment, a raised floor, and a presentation AV system, enriching the student learning experience. The CITA Learning Centre comprises 23 classrooms and 2 computer labs. Renovations include new furniture and an upgraded air-conditioning system in the student common room and common areas.

Covering approximately 24,000 square feet, KEK features a modern and welcoming open service lobby. The brown baffle ceilings and carpets enhance the space, making it immediately inviting. With 8 classrooms, 1 computer lab, and 2 student common rooms, KEK is designed to promote a relaxed atmosphere conducive to teaching and learning. The student common rooms are bright and tranquil, featuring floor-to-ceiling glass windows that provide unobstructed views. Light grey vinyl flooring and light-coloured timber-laminated study tables create a serene and focused study environment. The newest addition, KEE, opened in September 2025, conveniently located within walking distance of KEC, KEK, and CITA. KEE's reception counters are prominently located, and the wooden finishes create a harmonious impression. Two large display monitors are installed at the reception area: one serves as an interactive way finder to simplify navigation, while the other displays the latest course information. 學院首屆教學院士交流會 School’s First Teaching Fellowship Festival 附屬學院第二屆學術會議徵求論文 The Second CC Academic Conference – Call for Short Papers 10 學院首屆教學院士 交流會 附屬學院第二屆 學術會議徵求論文 School’s First Teaching Fellowship Festival The Second Community College Academic Conference – Call for Short Papers On 5 November 2025, HKU SPACE held its first Teaching Fellowship Festival, celebrating the achievements and aspirations of the Teaching Fellowship Scheme launched in May 2024. This milestone initiative underscores the School’s commitment to professional development in the continuing education sector. The Scheme not only elevates professional development but also fosters a culture of excellence and collaboration. During the event, Fellowship holders and colleagues currently in the process of applying for a fellowship shared their reflections on some of the challenges faced by teaching and programme management staff at HKU SPACE, as well as strategies to address them. All presentations were well received by the audience. The Festival attracted about one hundred participants (both in person and online). Following the success of the inaugural Academic Conference in 2024, HKU SPACE Community College is excited to announce its second conference scheduled for 5 June 2026, centred around the theme of Artificial Intelligence and Higher Education. The rapid advancement of AI in recent years has seen widespread application across various industries, presenting inevitable challenges for the education sector. The Community College cordially invites scholars, educators, experts, and postgraduate students from different disciplines to partake in the conference. On 3 November this year, the School had the privilege of hosting a delegation from MMU. Both parties exchanged the latest developments within their institutions and explored potential avenues for future collaboration. During this visit, the two institutions also signed the latest framework agreement to enhance co-operation, represented by Professor William K.M. Lee, Director of HKU SPACE, and Professor Jenny Watling, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of MMU. The two institutions will provide more quality higher education programmes for students. MMU will focus on designing programme content and making awards, while the School will continually enhance the learning environment and provide support services such as programme promotion and enrolment. Building on the successful signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between HKU SPACE and Temasek Polytechnic in June 2025, Temasek organised a study tour in September for academic and cultural exchanges with the School and the University of Hong Kong. Dr John Cribbin, Deputy Director (Academic Services) of HKU SPACE, extended a warm welcome to the visiting students and introduced the development of the School. Dr Kian Tan Un, Principal Lecturer, and Dr Wendy Ma, Senior Programme Director, then introduced the features of the sub-degree programmes and the local dietitian training programme. The delegation then moved on to the School of Biological Sciences at HKU to learn about the food and nutritional sciences programme. 學院校友週 2025 精彩獻禮 Alumni Week 2025 12 探索AI的威力 香港無線科技商會主席李勁華先生在「發掘GenAI 的潛力─創造真實價值」講座中，為校友詳細剖析生 成式人工智能在各行業的實用價值和應用潛力，並 分享了實戰案例，讓大家能夠掌握未來職場新動向。 「釋放香港低空經濟潛力─機遇與挑戰」由奧雅納董 事何定國先生主講，他帶領校友們深入探討香港低 空經濟的機遇與挑戰，並拆解該產業的發展前景與 突破潛力。 香港中文大學醫學院榮休教授黃家星在「創新科技引 領中風及腦神經科治療和康復的新紀元」講座中，為 大眾介紹了人工智能、大數據及機械人技術如何革 新中風及腦神經治療，並分享了應用案例。 三場講座以現場參與及網上直播形式同步進行，共 吸引了逾540人次即時收看，截至11月底的累積觀 看次數逾2,000。 Alumni Week 2025 學院校友週2025 精彩獻禮 學院於2025年10月至12月隆重舉辦年度「校友週」，為校友及公眾呈獻了一系列人工智能相 關的精彩講座及參觀活動，與大家一起擁抱科技新時代，觀摩最大型綜合體育館，並穿越數千 年回到古埃及的歷史長河中。 The School took pride in hosting its annual Alumni Week from October to December 2025, featuring a captivating array of AI-related talks and exciting guided tours for alumni and the wider public. The event delved into the realm of cutting-edge technologies, offering visits to an expansive sports venue and a journey back through the millennia to explore the history of Ancient Egypt. Explore the power of AI Mr Keith Li, Chairman of the Hong Kong Wireless Technology Industry Association, delivered a comprehensive analysis to alumni on the practical and potential applications of generative AI across various industries. In his talk “Maximising GenAI for Practical Impact”, real-world cases were shared to equip attendees with a deeper understanding of the evolving landscape of the workplace. “Unlocking the Potential of Low Altitude Economy in Hong Kong” was presented by Mr Clement Ho, Director of Arup. Alumni were guided through an exploration of the opportunities and hurdles within Hong Kong’s Low Altitude Economy, as well as the industry’s growth prospects and breakthrough potential. Professor Wong Ka Sing Lawrence, Emeritus Professor of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, shed light on how artificial intelligence, big data, and robotic technologies are reshaping the treatment landscape for stroke and neurological disorders. In his talk “Innovative Technologies Ushering in a New Era of Stroke and Neurological Treatment and Rehabilitation”, he shared case studies showcasing their practical applications. These three talks were conducted concurrently through in-person and online participation, drawing over 540 immediate viewers, with the cumulative viewership exceeding 2,000 by the end of November.
13 現代建築與古文明的碰撞 校友會於10月份組織了導賞團，參觀最新落成、 香港最大型綜合體育館—啟德體育園。校友們在導 賞員帶領下參觀了啟德主場館的各個角落，包括球 員更衣室、觀眾席及草坪等區域，深入認識這個「香 港主場」，並了解其背後的建造過程和故事。 在11月舉辦的「古埃及文明大展：埃及博物館珍藏」 導賞團中，校友們參觀了香港歷來規模最大、內容 最全面的古埃及文物珍藏展覽。是次的展品年代橫 跨近5,000年，種類豐富，包括巨型雕像、石碑、木 乃伊棺槨和面具等，極具歷史與學術價值。校友得 以親身目睹古埃及的瑰寶，實屬難得。 另外，為實踐「學以為人」的理念，校友會在12月舉 行了「聯合國兒童基金會慈善跑『HERO RUN — 童 您跑』」義工招募活動，支持兒童權益，並為社會貢 獻力量！ Modern architecture and ancient civilisation In October, the Alumni organised a visit to the recently completed Kai Tak Sports Park, the largest sports venue in Hong Kong. Participants explored various sections of the stadium, including the players’ changing rooms, spectator stands, and the field, gaining a better understanding of the “Hong Kong’s Home Stadium” and the stories behind its construction. During the guided tour of “Ancient Egypt Unveiled: Treasures from Egyptian Museums” in November, alumni were immersed in the largest and most comprehensive exhibition of ancient Egyptian artefacts ever showcased in Hong Kong. Spanning nearly 5,000 years, the exhibition featured a diverse array of exhibits, including colossal statues, monuments, mummy cases, and masks, all of immense historical and scholarly significance. It presented a rare opportunity for alumni to witness the treasures of ancient Egypt firsthand. Moreover, the Alumni hosted the UNICEF Charity Run “HERO RUN – WondeRun” volunteer recruitment in December, rallying volunteers to champion children's rights and contribute to society, embodying the Alumni’s motto of “We Learn to Serve” in action.

Dr Bruce Cheung, Head of the College of Life Sciences and Technology of HKU SPACE, accepted the award on behalf of the School at a ceremony held on 4 September 2025. This achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to “ESG: Committing to Corporate Citizenship” — a key strategic direction of our 2025-2030 Strategic Plan. As we move forward, we remain committed to enhancing sustainability practices, fostering a culture of respect and inclusivity, and bolstering governance transparency to uphold our commitments. The Education Bureau conducted the Qualifications Framework (QF) Partnerships Commendation Ceremony 2025 on 16 September 2025. During this ceremony, the Secretary for Education, Dr Choi Yuk-lin, presented certificates of commendation to enterprises and education and training organisations supporting the QF. This year, the School was distinguished as a “QF Star Training Provider”, acknowledging our effort in providing flexible progression pathways for students, developing career ladders, competency based, and generic competency programmes, and promoting credit accumulation and transfer.
