In the 2023/24 academic year, CLST showcased impressive resilience and adaptability despite challenges such as emigration trends, a slow aviation recovery, and ierce competition. The College's commitment to high academic standards and sustainability resulted in signi icant growth and steady enrolment in both part-time and fulltime programmes. Its strong reputation in continuing education and lifelong learning attracted a diverse student body, underscoring its leadership in education. Flagship programmes remained vital to the inancial stability of the College. Supported by an e¨icient through-train arrangement, these programmes enhanced educational continuity, offering students a seamless transition from one level of study to another. This structure not only bolstered the College's competitive edge but also promoted academic excellence. The successful accreditation of various partnership programmes additionally increased prospective students' con idence, aiding in maintaining enrolment levels and reinforcing the College's reputation for delivering quality education. In response to societal needs and learning challenges, CLST e ectively leveraged its strong industry connections to explore new directions for programme o erings. Notable developments in 2023/24 included the launch of four new ESG-related programmes. Collaborations with the Beijing TCM Training Centre facilitated the International Quali ication Test for Acupuncture and Moxibustion, and partnerships with mainland hospitals secured valuable internships and clinical placements for students. A major development for CLST was adding AI and Generative AI components to its academic programmes. This shift transformed the 在2023/24年度,儘管面臨移民趨勢、航空業 復甦緩慢以及競爭激烈等挑戰,生命科學與科技 學院依然展現了卓越的韌性與適應力。我們致力 提供高學術水平和可持續發展課程的承諾,讓我 們在兼讀制和全日制課程的入學人數保持穩定增 長。學院在持續教育及終身學習方面享有良好聲 譽,吸引了不同層面的學生,突顯了我們在教育 領域的領導地位。 旗艦課程是學院財務穩定的關鍵支柱。學院提供 高效且能強化教育連貫性的「進修直通車」,使 學生能夠順利銜接至更高的學習階段,並透過不 同升學途徑取得專業資格。這種結構不僅增強了 學院的競爭優勢,也促進了我們在學術上的卓越 發展。多門與夥伴機構合作開辦的課程獲得認 證,更增加了潛在學員的信心,有助學院保持穩 定收生人數,以及鞏固我們提供優質教育的良好 聲譽。 為應對社會需求和教學挑戰,學院利用與不同 業界的緊密聯繫,為設計課程探索新方向。在 2023/24年度,值得注意的新發展包括︰推出 四個環境、社會與管治相關的課程;與北京中醫 藥培訓中心(Beijing TCM Training Centre)合 作促成了國際針灸專業人員水準考試培訓課程; 以及與內地醫院合作,為中醫學學生提供寶貴的 實習和臨床實習機會。 作為學院的另一項重要發展,我們致力將人工智 能和生成式人工智能納入學術課程中,從而革新 了學院的教育方式。學院將人工智能工具融入多 項課程,包括資訊科技深造文憑、商業資訊科技 高等文憑,以及各個以人工智能為核心的證書課 程。另外,學院推出了人工智能大使計劃,以協 助提升教職員對這方面的認識與支持,並重點介 紹人工智能如何有助提升工作效率的成功例子。 The College of Life Sciences and Technology 生命科學及科技學院 courses for non-Chinese speaking students in kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, as well as their parents. The College was appointed by the Education Bureau as the Recognition of Prior Learning Assessment Agency for the Arboriculture and Horticulture Industry. CHL also conducted the Graduation Ceremony for the irst cohort of courses commissioned by the Correctional Services Department to support rehabilitation of young persons-in-custody. The two CHL Open Days on 26 August 2023 and 20 January 2024 were met with overwhelming responses. The irst event offered 28 talks attracting more than 700 attendees, while the second event o ered 30 talks attracting more than 1,200 attendees. In the meantime, the College has implemented a hybrid working mode to align with the School's direction and is increasing the use of AI to enhance productivity. Looking ahead, CHL is adapting to new challenges and opportunities.
