The College of Humanities and Law (CHL) had a very successful 2023/24 academic year, marked by signi icant growth and diversi ication of its educational o erings. CHL has been committed to providing a wide range of educational opportunities in humanities, languages, and law to serve various communities. In 2023/24, the College developed more than 110 programmes and courses at different levels, including Certi icate for Module, Certi icate and Executive programmes, as well as short courses. These programmes and courses covered diverse subjects such as AI, law, culture, arts and design, languages, psychology, counselling, tree management, safety and health, etc. This diverse portfolio bridges the gap between personal interests and professional advancement, catering to a broad spectrum of learners. CHL’s commitment to development and expansion is evident in several key initiatives. In collaboration with the University of Plymouth, CHL is developing a Professional Doctorate in Education programme to o er potential applicants an opportunity to upgrade their academic quali ications. The existing Language Centre was expanded and renamed as the Centre for Language Education and Assessment, re lecting the growing diversity of CHL’s language services, particularly in Chinese language education projects and language placement tests for English and European languages. CHL has also developed several ESG courses, including the Executive Certi icate in ESG for Real Estate, Certi icate for Module (Sustainability in Art and Cultural Events Curation) and Sustainability Workshop for Planners of Art and Cultural Events. The College has spared no effort in its community engagement, with the development of more than 150 commissioned courses for public and private organisations. CHL has been actively involved in projects for the Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR) and provides 人文及法律學院在2023/24學年取得了亮麗的 佳績,課程數目顯著增長兼具多元化特色。學院 一直致力在人文、語言及法律的領域提供各種課 程,以服務不同社群。在2023/24學年,學院 發展了超過110個不同级別的單元證書、證書、 行政人員課程,以及短期課程,涵蓋不同學科如 人工智能、法律、文化、藝術與設計、語言、心 理學、輔導、樹木管理、安全與健康等。課程類 型多元化,既有發展個人興趣方面,也有幫助提 升專業能力的範疇,回應了不同學習者的需求。 學院致力發展和擴充院務,在本學年進行了數 項重要工作,包括與英國普利茅斯大學合作推出 的教育專業博士學位課程,為準申請者提供學術 資歷提升的機會;此外,學院亦擴展舊有的語文 中心,將其命名為語文教育及測試中心,這反映 了學院對語文服務的支援日益多元化,特別是關 於中文教育的項目,以及英語和歐洲語的水平測 試;學院還開辦了多個環境、社會與管治課程, 包括行政人員證書(房地產業的環境保護、社會 責任和企業管治策略)、證書(單元 : 藝術及文化 活動策劃的可持續性)和可持續發展工作坊:如 何策劃文化藝術活動。 College of Humanities and Law 人文及法律學院 The College continues to establish and strengthen external partnerships with industry and professional bodies. New alliances include the Institute of Accountants and Bookkeepers, Association of Blockchain and Compliance Professionals, Hong Kong Association of Registered Tour Co-ordinators, Actuarial Society of Hong Kong, Asia Paci ic Loan Market Association and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals. Supporting the School’s Microcredentials scheme, the College included 155 of its Certi icates for Modules. These additions re lect our commitment to equipping students with skills for a sustainable future. Lunchtime live-stream talks were arranged on topics such as inancial technology, green inance/ ESG investing, the virtual asset industry, and data analytics. These talks are on the College’s YouTube Channel. CBF is set to explore new trends and niche market demands, including new initiatives and development on the Greater Bay Area.
