DIRECTOR’S REVIEW OF THE YEAR院長回顧 The College also continued to serve the community through a wide variety of commissioned courses in various disciplines, including a new Applied Learning programme in Japanese for senior secondary students commissioned by the Education Bureau (EDB), which will run until 2025. Other programmes of important social value included three continuing projects commissioned by the EDB to assist non-Chinese speaking (NCS) children and their parents. These include school-based professional support services to enhance the learning and teaching of Chinese by NCS students in 17 kindergartens, help run Chinese language learning support centres for more than 800 primary and secondary NCS school students, and deliver parent education talks to more than 720 parents of NCS students. In July 2021, the School also became the Recognition of Prior Learning Assessment Agency for the Security Services Industry. Last but not least, in August 2022 the College bid a fond farewell to its outgoing head, Dr Kwong Tsz Man, who retired after more than 25 years of sterling service to the School.
