In view of the quality tree management policy of the HKSAR Government and the increasing social awareness of tree conservation in parallel, this HKQF level 4 programme has been established to respond to the high demand for personnel with professional training in the arboricultural industry since 2013. This programme is well designed to deliver theories with plenty of local examples and field learning, and practice opportunities, so that students can acquire essential knowledge for arboricultural works, particularly at the supervisory level. Lecturers of this programme are all experienced and renowned experts in the field of arboriculture, urban forestry, ecology, habitat rehabilitation and management. Employees in fields such as landscape architecture, surveying, property management, contractor works and government departments relating to tree management and conservation would directly benefit from taking this programme. This programme can also help people to equip essential knowledge to prepare to join the tree management industry. By completing this programme, students can receive the Advanced Diploma in Tree Management and Conservation. Applicants shall: 1. i a) have gained in the DSE Examination Level 2 or above in 5 subjects, including Chinese Language and English Language; or b) have gained in the HKALE Grade E in one AL subject or two AS subjects; or c) have gained in the HKCEE Examination Grade E or above in 3 subjects PLUS Level 2 or Grade E or above in Chinese Language and English Language; and ii have 2 years of work experience in the related field; OR 2. hold a bachelor’s degree in related field awarded by a recognized university or equivalent. Applicants who cannot satisfy the educational requirements specified above may be considered on individual merit provided that they have at least 5 years relevant work experience in the field. Individual applicants may be required to take an English written test and/ or attend an interview as appropriate. Exemption Policy 1.
