HKU SPACE was the first to offer transnational education (TNE) by working with well-known overseas partners to provide their qualifications in Hong Kong. By 1964, The University of Hong Kong’s Department of Extra Mural Studies (the former name of HKU SPACE) was working with the University of London and offering the first full-time LLB programme in Hong Kong, marking a milestone in our School’s internationalisation. Recently, we have developed a series of strategic partnerships with our overseas partners. In addition to undergraduate programmes, we also work with partners to offer overseas master and doctorate programmes in Hong Kong. Up to now, there are some 20 academic partners providing nearly 80 programmes ranging from business, marketing, accounting and finance, to architecture, information studies, aviation, social science, and sports.
