Certificate for Module (Everyday English for Beginners) differs from mainstream approaches to English language learning by aiming to teach English through students’ first language (Putonghua or Cantonese), thereby strengthening their foundational knowledge of English and expanding their essential vocabulary. The programme fully leverages students’ existing knowledge of their native language to accelerate the acquisition of English as a second language, using familiar linguistic frameworks for comparison and comprehension. This will help create a lower-pressure environment for early-stage language learning. Applicant should be a proficient Cantonese or Putonghua speaker and should be capable of using electronic devices to complete e-learning activities.
